Sleep Deprivation

I never sleep. Plain and simple! It has been that way for my entire life. My mother blames it on the nurses playing with my after I was born because I was the only baby in the hospital. See I was born at 12am on the 30th of December so it's just natural that I do things a little differently than most; including sleeping. Don't get me wrong, I love to sleep, it's just usually in the middle of the day. I've made excuses for it throughout my college career but to be honest, I just function a lot better at night. Right now for instance! It's almost 5am and I'm blogging! I'm convinced that it is impossible for me to sleep like normal people, thus I just give in and try and occupy my time with productive activities. It's never really a problem unless I have plans the next morning or afternoon, because I will sleep right through them. In fact, I have done this too many times to keep track. I wish there were something that I could do about it, but at this point I just have to get used to it. Alas, I am at my close; the end of this post that is, and I must bid the ado. I will try to get a few winks in before the Arkansas v. LSU game tomorrow in Little Rock! GO HOGS, BEAT TIGERS! Woo Pig Sooie! :P

Take care and sleep well,

Corey

Sushi Experiment

Tonight was a rather interesting evening. Anna called me to ask if I wanted to go to the store to purchase dinner. *Sidenote: The one thing that you do NOT do when you are hungry is go grocery shopping, however I threw caution to the wind and decided to go get something for dinner. After wondering around aimlessly for 15 minutes, Anna and I were at a loss! We had no idea what we were going to eat. I knew that I needed some outsider input and I used an IRC Chat Channel to formulate a list of ideas. People threw out things like Pizza, steak and "sammiches." None of these even remotely sounded good, so I ask Anna if sushi sounded good to her. She said that sounded delicious and the pursuit of ingredients ensued. After collecting the necessary items and visiting 2 stores to get them, we were ready to make SUSHI! I was told that Sushi is one of the hardest things to make because it takes years to master, but it's so good! I got back to Anna's apartment where the trial run was to take place and scoured the interwebs for a “how-to!” I came across this video on YouTube: http://bit.ly/eFMKwq. There you will find a tutorial of how to make a spicy tuna roll, which happens to be what I made this evening. I followed this recipe: http://bit.ly/eFMKwq.  I hope that you will attempt this yourself, because it truly was amazing; and it didn’t cost $7 a roll! J Here’s to trying something new!

Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist - Lady Gaga
Favorite Contemporary/Inspirational Music Artist - MercyMe
Favorite Country Album - Carrie Underwood  Play On
Favorite Soul/R&B Album - Usher   Raymond v. Raymond

There is a lot of controversy about these results already and I feel that I have to give my take of things. First off, Justin Bieber won more awards than any other artist at the American Music Awards this evening; including AMA Artist of the Year Award. I'm not sure if I'm ready to say that Justin Bieber is the greatest in the Music Industry! Sure his tunes are catchy, but is he really that good of an artist? I was really surprised that in all the performances tonight, Lady Gaga did not perform. They had the Backstreet boys and New Kids on the Block do a compilation of the songs that made both groups famous and that was really neat. I guess I'm just bitter that the "Mother Monster" herself didn't perform. All in all it was a great evening with a lot of wonderful artists getting much deserved awards. What is your take? Who would you give the awards to?
